Raleigh NC : Quinn and Austin: Jones Chapel at Meredith College

Downtown Raleigh, NC | Meredith College Jones Chapel | Durham Wedding Photography Nothing but peaceful smiles greeted me when I came to join the bride and her maids getting ready.  Quinn had it all planned out to a tee.  She had thought of every detail and on the day of the wedding she was ready and excited but being one of the most chill people greeted her excitement and wedding day with the utmost relaxed excitement... if that's possible?!  Well, it has to be cause that was Quinn.  It was a join to join in on the fun as she finished up getting ready, enjoyed relaxing with her bridal party and shared in the joys of her wedding day.

The dress, the shoes, the jewelry... it was laid out ready and perfectly fitting to this wonderful fall afternoon.  The threat of rain hampered no one as they our made their way to the church Quinn's father recounted stories of his wedding and Quinn's childhood and the love for his daughter poured out without effort.  There was nothing but support and excitement for the start this new family and I have got to say it was a joy to be a part of such a wonderful day and I'm right there along side anyone else that has met Quinn and Austin in cheering on them, their love and their new life together!

How beautiful is this dress!

Banana-Hammock

When I got married and it was time to think about changing my name I couldn't help but channel Phoebe from Friends.  But since "Banana-hammock" was already taken I figured I sadly probably couldn't come up with a better option.

I figured with the multitudes that have gotten married before me that the process of changing your name must be a simple, easy and mostly pain free process... I was horribly mistaken.  I wish I had known about Miss-now-Mrs before I got married.

It is exactly what it seems like.  It is a service that has collected all the information needed to change names in every state.  It has walks you through where to go and gives you the exact forms so that it can be pain free and as simple as possible without it being all strictly online (sadly that isn't an option).  And the best part is: the service is only $30! You can even register for it since Walmart stores sell gift cards to it!

Don't take my word for it take a look and see if it would make your life easier!

Lynchburg VA : Brittany and Chris: Mountain View Wedding

Lynchburg VA Wedding | Quaint Church Wedding | Mountain View Wedding
Walking up the stairs in the historic home of a family friend, I could hear the creak of old wood and the melody that is Brittany's laugh.  She was upstairs prepping herself for her wedding day.  Hair done and make up all but finished as her dress was zipped.
Brittany's first question, "Have you seen Chris?!"  This was going to be the longest time they had spent apart in a long time and Brittany was all but jumping at the chance to see Chris.  As the moments ticked away closer to the wedding you could see her picking up her phone to check the time and take a peek to see if there was any word from Chris.
It was such a joy to be there with Chris and Brittany on their wedding day and I am ever grateful for that honor!

I just love how overjoyed Brittany's mom looks after seeing her beautiful daughter!

Just moments before Brittany whipped out her personal vows to Chris to make sure she had them all perfect!
Brittany: seriously?!

After all the searching to find the perfect church and they found just what they were looking for!

The view of the mountains was beautiful but all Chris had eyes for was his stunning wife!

An adorable touch at their reception: they personalized everyone's glasses for the night which also served as the favor!
Guest book?  Why when you can have a beautiful hunk of Cedar?!
I have to give a round of applause to Brittany and her family for making each and ever decoration for their reception, it turned out beautiful.

What mountain wedding isn't complete without a lavender toss?

To Brittany and Chris:
Your love is contagious and it was amazing to be able to document the start of your amazing new life together!  Thank you for that honor.

Things I didn't know:

What you eat can crazy affect your baby if you're breast feeding.  I mean I knew it could but not to the degree it does.

I'm unfortunately Dairy and Gluten free for this exact reason.  I wish I was awesome enough to just do this for health reasons or because Oprah told me to but let's face it I'd eat a tub of ice cream (not one of those cute personalized pints, don't kid yourself Jerry... they aren't 4 servings) in one sitting no problem and I'll crush bread sticks when I'm allowed.  Beneficially for my health my dear daughter can't seem to handle them... or we can't handle her trying to handle them might be more accurate.

And the more I look around the more common it seems to be.  Thankfully I have a fellow sufferer/fellow photog and I've determined new BFF Christi to help carry the burden with me (Check her out she is great!).

That said: Luna dear please don't get allergic to anything else or mommy won't be able to eat!

So any of you out there who have taken on the challenge that is Gluten and Dairy free for your health I bow before your determination!

PS: why does Buckwheat bake grey??  It is very disconcerting... just saying
