Family Photos

The best part of life is people.  No questions asked.  No struggle.  It wins hands out.  This past year so much has changed in my life.  One of the best things is the new friends I have gotten to know this year.  One of them just happens to also be a fabulous photographer!  So what better to do then have her snap a few photos of our new family!  So thank you Christi Ann!

By far my favorite but then again I'm a huge goof!

Thank you again Christi Ann Photography!

Confessions... life...

I let life take over sometimes. It is like I'm lost in the rapids and instead of trying to make my way to the side I decide that it might just be better to sip a margarita and pretend that I paid for a gaunt down the river. I escape the reality for a moment. If it is simple as ignoring the clothes that need washing or the blogs that need writing and instead I sip my water, eat a few handfuls of chocolate morsels and breath deep and heavy at just being.

(yes I know super old picture but my CPU was out so give me a break :D)

You forget the awesome it is to just be alone when you don't have it threatened. I mean I have dreams now... they would seem silly to anyone who isn't a mom... they seem silly to me but they are still my dreams. Like I want to walk the aisle of the grocery store as slowly as I want. Like strolling pace. Stop and look at food products I will never buy cause I honestly am at a loss for what they are let alone their use in this world. I want to sit and watch movies all day or I want to be able to bake without knowing that if I don't do it quickly enough Luna will fall on her head and start screaming.

I love my daughter. I never would have thought I could love someone as much as I love her but there are times I just want to have the freedom to for hours on end think of no one but myself. I know it is a selfish desire but I can't help it. I want to float back to the before times when I could crash a coffee house and sip some fru-fru drink and edit pictures, scour articles and nip and tuck my website.

So here is to silly selfish day dreams that might just happen...

Announcing a New Package!

When Chris and I were getting married we had a tight budget.  Much the same as a lot of young couples.  In the process of planning our small family wedding we discussed taking a full budget for the wedding and just getting the photographer of our dreams and eloping.

For the family sake we chose not to but if I was going back...

Just saying...

With all the love I have for elopement:

I'm proud to announce a brand new elopement package!

So for those of you on a budget, deciding on elopement but wanting quality photography this might be just for you!

#LunaSpam 6 Months

You know those moments when you wonder about life and how it used to be done?  Well I have those at times.  I mean I lived in the preinternet days (or at least the widespread internet days) and pre cell phones and all that jazz but I forget exactly how life happened.  Like before cell phones when you got into an accident did you just wait hoping for a cop to pass? Or in this case, when you don't chronolog your kids growth on the internet! :D

Well, you don't have to worry as a result of the awesome that is the internet you get to enjoy the beauty that is Luna #biasedandidontcare!

Happy Six months it has been!

Happy Love Day

Roses, chocolates, candies, spa days... So many ways to celebrate a holiday surrounded and pretty much based in Love.  This year I decided to join in on the fun by throwing a special!

How do you celebrate your holiday?

Learning to roll with it...

Everyone has gifts.  Even the most unlikely person has some awesome talent... even if they don't know it.  Just like even the most awesome person has their kryptonite.  Not being super fancy nor considering myself a superhero but in my world of photography Family/kid sessions are not my gift. I see those around me who have the talent (see Sarah Petty or Neito Photography) and I kneel to their ability.

All the same at times I decide to switch it up so a dear friend and fellow photographer had a baby less then one month apart and so we did a double date together as families and included a little mini session (her amazing pictures of us to follow in a bit).  Still not the best at it but it was a fun switch up!  If you're interested in Christi Ann's work check out her facebook!

How cute is he!

Late but never too late?!?

The joys of having a CPU fail at the holidays???  Is that you get to enjoy so family pictures from my holidays a lot after the holidays!!  Just makes you long for some more egg nog right!? Maybe that's just me...

Do you ever feel like the holidays are a blur?  This year that was me.  I am a HUGE... yes, I love it all... all the crazy... all of it... FAN of Christmas.  My family calls me the "keeper of Christmas".  That being said I oddly never felt really Christmas-y this year.  Too much hussle and bussle to get there I guess.  But now I can look back over my photos and pretend for a minute that it is still Christmas... or something like that so you will get a random selection of photos of family over this holiday season: ready or not....

Photo compliments of Aunt Stephanie :D

How was your holiday season this year?  Yes, I'm asking super late I know but humor me!? Please? :D

Making your Wedding Editorially YOURS!

You ever go to a wedding and feel like you only know the bride and groom?  Of course as a wedding photographer that might litterally be the case but in my years of being in weddings I can recall more than a few where my knowledge of the guest list was very limited and so it was like speed dating for friends the day of the wedding.

There is this neat website that is adorable: Guesterly.  It is an adorable way for you to help your guests, wedding party, family and all else feel connected with not that much work on your end yet giving you a custom look!

Guesterly allows you to pick your guest list, adjust as the RSVP's roll in and you can easily make a little magazine, edited specifically to your style preferences, introducing as little or as much information you so desire!

You can tell how your maid of honor made you mud pies at 3 years old or how your second cousin loves to dance the night away or... you get the drift.  I guess you could even make a slam list of things that might even embarriss them... if you were feeling crafty :D

You can use it as a favor, you can use it as a program, you can... well it's your wedding, you're the bride so you get the idea!

Take a look and tell me what you think!
